SKDT Supportaloo!

Visitors to Westport beach will be relieved after South Kintyre Development Trust (SKDT) were able to facilitate the installation of a portable toilet in the car park for the next 14 weeks.

Council cutbacks meant that there would be no extra funds to pay for provision of toilets and there were concerns that it would lead to environmental issues and affect tourism in the area.

SKDT accessed funds from West Kintyre Community Council Windfarm Trust and local supplier Jim Martin has been contracted to install and service the toilet until 8th September when it will be removed from the site.

SKDT Trust Manager Zena Coffield said “We are glad to help out this time and we are extremely grateful to West Kintyre Windfarm Trust for making it possible, however this is a temporary fix and a permanent solution should to be sought”.
