A fortuitous visit and impeccable timing has led to a funding boost for the renovation of the Town Hall clock.
Matt Ingle, Chief Executive of Howden's Joinery, was on a visit to the Campbeltown branch earlier in the month and happened to hear that South Kintyre Development Trust (SKDT) were seeking funding to overhaul and renew the Town Hall clock as part of the redevelopment of this historic building.
After consulting with the local branch manager, Archie Martin, Mr Ingle decided to donate the princely sum of seven thousand pounds on behalf of Howden's to keep the Town Hall clock ticking for future generations.
Eric Spence, Project Coordinator of the Town Hall project, said "We really can't thank Mr Ingle, Archie and Howden's enough for this most generous donation.”
SKDT is continuing to raise funds to complete the renovation of the clock and bell. If you can help in any way, please contact SKDT on 01586 552870 or email us at info@skdt.org

The contribution from Howden's Joinery for the Town Hall clock is a commendable example of community support in action. It's heartening to see local businesses stepping up to preserve historic landmarks like this. This initiative not only maintains a piece of local heritage but also fosters a sense of community pride. It's interesting to think about how such local connections can influence social interactions, much like discovering your own social energy type at SBTI Match can enhance understanding with friends.
