SKDT Appoint consultants to commence a feasibility study into the regeneration of Campbeltown town c
Last week we met with the team who will be in the forefront of the community-led regeneration of Campbeltown town centre. Tom Sneddon will lead a team to include Steve Tolson a property economist with a chartered surveying background and Richard East of City Design Coop who is a landscape architect and urban designer.
The team collectively have experience of working at a variety of scales, involving participatory engagement as part of the design process, of getting people involved thereby developing a sense of ownership for the place in which they live and work.
Tom is an architect with considerable experience in community-led regeneration and is co-founder of the Development Trusts Association Scotland, a director of Scotland's Towns Partnership and chair of Carluke Development Trust where he lives.
Tom, in various combinations with Steve and Richard has done work in Coupar Angus, Clyde Gateway Glasgow, Kelty and more recently completing a charrette for Neilston Development Trust. Tom and Steve have just completed an extended piece of work for Neilston looking at small scale housing procurement and delivery.
Tom said “The team look forward to working with SKDT in pulling together, with others, a community-led town centre vision that can work alongside and add value to existing and future initiatives”.
