South Kintyre Development Trust is delighted to be coordinating Doors Open Day, Scotland’s largest free annual architectural event in 2015 covering the area from Inveraray to Campbeltown. Doors Open Day takes place throughout Scotland and is part of European Heritage Days. Information about the national programme can be found at www.doorsopendays.org.uk
SKDT will provide a platform for people to share their love of buildings, history, region or subject with the public, whether local or visiting and build connections between people and places.
Doors Open Days give you free access to fascinating buildings. Throughout the last weekend in September (26th – 27th) you can explore places that are normally closed to the public. Some open up once a year, some just once in a lifetime.
This year our theme is “Scotland's Industrial Heritage” and will include some buildings that you have always wanted to see inside.
More information coming soon.

The South Kintyre Development Trust's initiative for Doors Open Day highlights an interesting opportunity to explore Scotland's architectural heritage. This year’s focus on “Scotland's Industrial Heritage” seems particularly relevant for those interested in the region's history. It's fascinating to think about the hidden stories behind buildings we often pass by. For anyone capturing these experiences, tools like the one at AI Miniature Generator could provide a unique way to document them as miniature images, adding a creative layer to the exploration.
